Hello All Just wanted to intro myself. I just purchased a KR2S boat and parts. I have plans to modify (add small area) at least the tail and wingtips to be shaped like the Hawker Sea Fury and will be painting the airplane like the one Lt. Hoagy Carmichael flew with the invasion stripes etc. I also want to copy the P51 control stick mechanism since it eliminates the interaction between the elevator and ailerons and I will use pushrods as much as possible since I am not a fan of cables and pulleys. Engine power will probably be an O-200 with C85 pistons. My requirement is to cruise at 150 with me and the wife. That may require the O-235 and I will make that determination later unless a deal on an engine presents itself in the mean time. Anyone used an O-320 yet (yes I know it's heavy)? I am using wing tanks and no header. I may change that to a small header but I doubt it. I also am building it with no flaps and one of those thingys that retract into the belly like the dive bombers had (someone help with with the name please) a dive brake I guess. Anyone tried putting dive brakes in the wings? Anyway it all very ambitious and it will take time and I will add and subtract as I progress. I am just happy to have started at this point after 20 years of dreaming. AND very happy to have a wife that wants to help. LOL
