I second that, I've designed alot of different parts on my current project but all welding had been done at a good shop. Like anything, there is a buy vs. do choice to be made. I only have maybe 8-16hrs a weekend, spending 4-5 hrs to wield something that takes a pro 30min is not going to maxize my time when I do get to work on my plane.
