I bought a KR2 kit and plan to use an epoxy with a 4.8 oz BID CF/Aramid. Maybe I'm wrong. But this seems like a pretty good idea. From what I understand either a CF/epoxy or Kevlar are both "stronger" than the original Dynel/VE layup. That CF is both more rigid and has a much higher yield but when it goes it is a "Catastrophic failure". With the Kevlar its weak points seems to be no actual penetration of resin into the fibers resulting in poor compression capacity. What seems to be a benefit to how Kevlar/epoxy is that it fails in a similar way as aluminum and is somewhat isotropic and not a sudden.
So around and around I go. Anyone wanting to chime in on this? I have no other place to work on it so I am have to sale it. I am asking $2500 for it. I will get some photos on here when I get to my personal computer. It is mostly built.
