I bought a KR2 kit and plan to use an epoxy with a 4.8 oz BID CF/Aramid.
Maybe I'm wrong. But this seems like a pretty good idea. From what I
understand either a CF/epoxy or Kevlar are both "stronger" than the original
Dynel/VE layup. That CF is both more rigid and has a much higher yield but
when it goes it is a "Catastrophic failure". With the Kevlar its weak points
seems to be no actual penetration of resin into the fibers resulting in poor
compression capacity. What seems to be a benefit to how Kevlar/epoxy is that
it fails in a similar way as aluminum and is somewhat isotropic and not a
sudden.

So around and around I go. Anyone wanting to chime in on this?
Phillip

Subject: KR> KR2 For sale

Hello all,  I hate to but have to sale my KR2.  I just got it about a month
ago
and started sanding on it in my basement garage and realized thats not the
place

for me to work on it due to my son having bad allergies and asthma.  I have
no
other place to work on it so I am have to sale it.  I am asking $2500 for
it.  I

will get some photos on here when I get to my personal computer.

It is mostly built.  I have two VW engine blocks with it.

Thanks,

Russ
