With you being the only exception I know, That is what engineers do, they 
design things. They don't build it and don't have to pay for it, they just 
design it and specify it, and it seems the more elaborate and expensive it is 
the better. That is why you were selected the engineer of the year by your 
piers because you have common sense to go with your engineering expertise.
