One of the planes lost was the Spirit of Hope, a Zenith 701 built here by my EAA chapters president (Burl Nelson, EAA479), He built it with the intention of giving it to missionaries to use in Africa. It was going to be transferred to them Friday in FL. This small plane was a big loss to many in need over there.
