An inch or two may OK (clearly it works for Chris), and it's certainly
appealing to use spacers rather than rebuilding the engine mount, but
there must be a point beyond which inserting spacers will become a
problem.  For the same reasons the engine mount has bracing in various
directions, surely spacers beyond a certain length should too?  For
example, I'd be surprised if 6 inch spacers didn't create an issue.  I
don't have the engineering background to do the maths, but intuitively
I'd have reservations going beyond a couple of inches with this
approach.  Does anyone have any data on this?
