My plane is 690lbs when I test flown it. Its probably around 700lbs now that I installed a transponder and a back-shelf for storage. Thats from a plan's dimension kr2 with a revmaster 2100D; nothing fancy on it. One of my goals is to strip my plane down to the wood frame and rebuild it lighter. Dave R.

The tanks were about 22# each. They could be built lighter by using .035 aluminum instead of the .040 that I used. With all the baffles, I did not need to use the thicker material. How heavy is your plane. Mine is a stock KR2 and with a Corvair engine is 750#. I think that is about 300# over the design weight for the stock KR2. But I ain't cryin, cause it flies great. It isn't a sports car, but I think it is more stable than was my much lighter first KR2. See N64KR at http://KRBuilder.org - Then click on the pics See you at the 2012 - KR Gathering in Mt. Vernon, Il ? MVN ? 40th Anniversary There is a time for building and it is over. Daniel R. Anyone else have weight specs?
