Greg, Sounds like you are starting with a very limited knowledge of aircraft construction. Not a problem, most of us started that way. I would suggest you join the local chapter of the EAA, if you don't already belong, and then order from the EAA the first three books written by Tony Bingelis and the book on"Aircraft Wood". Building an airplane in your workshop is a several year project. If you are building to fly I'd suggest you take as many short cuts as possible such as buying a partially completed project, ready made parts, etc. Going the " I want to do everything myself" route will add years to the building process. Many of us start with the idea of building our dream airplane but at some point reality sets in and we realize the time and effort required to complete the project. Completed KR's sell for less than the cost to build them so you might even wait for the right one to come along and buy one already finished. Good luck with whatever route you take.
