because this plane is not 'flippable'... I thought that about mine too as my shed has 9 ft or so height in its centre, and no opportunity to do anything outside due to a steep slope ...
But I achieved a "flip" by removing the engine and engine mount mount (yes a bit of work but not that much) and making a rudimentary angle iron frame mounting off the engine mounts. I attached (tack welds and then bolts) a short tube (about 2 1/4 inch exhaust pipeing actually) that sticks out forwards. I mounted this at the bottom of the frame as I figured the Cg of the engineless airframe would be pretty low down. I put a loose sleeve over this tube (another piece of pipe) and put a bolt through the first tube to stop the second one from slipping off. I similarly attached a tube to the tailwheel spring with a sleeve over it. The I levelled the airframe (approximately) and attached a strop from a chain block hanging from the garage roof at the front end and put the back on a step ladder (would hang it from the roof too next time. (during the rotation, the tail needed to be raised a bit more to clear the HS and fin .... easily done by hand .....) The "flip" was achieved (with some anxiety) single handed and very easily. And the a/c now hangs from the front frame and is stabalised by a couple of portable work benches under the wing stubs to give me perfect access to the u/c and to repair all the long neglected underside minor damage. ... Hope that helps anyone working with restricted headroom ....
