>yes, N6242 has 2 ASI and 3 magnetic compasses per >FSDO mandate), ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Where in the h*l* did they come up with that mandate???? There is nothing in the regs that I've ever seen to mandate 2 ASI's and 3 magnetic compasses. Don't they realize that your KR has windows to look through for backup? Larry Flesner ------------------------------ On my airworthiness inspection application, I stated the aircraft would be VFR day/night. The night flight part required a backup mechanical air speed indicator. The Dynon has a built-in magnetic compass and a remote magnetic compass sensor. Since these are electronic, it was determined by the FSDO inspector that the plane needed a back-up wet compass for night flight. The count is 2 ASI and 3 magnetic compasses. So that's the way it was inspected and approved. And now it has to stay that way to comply with the airworthiness certificate. Sid Wood
