I have always been curious on this subject and any data that might give a
person an idea of possible contaminants produced by heating systems and
especially un vented heating systems. I use a propane powered salamander heater
in my insulated hanger. Because I have always been concerned about
contaminates, I do not apply paint while running the heater. I also take
special care to wipe down anything that may have been previously exposed to
propane gases.

I have never felt that I could get humidity and other conditions ideal enough
to paint while running the heater anyway.

As far as mixing composites and such, I usually (as I recall, its been a while)
mixed with a higher ratio of hardeners so that my work would set up faster in
to compensate for the colder temps. That's my unscientific, very vague input on
the subject.

Subject: KR> Shop Heat

Hey guys, I'm getting ready to get back on my KR2S project and have a question.
In Ohio the temps are getting down there which will require me to heat
the shop. At present the only source for heat is a torpedo style
Kerosene heater. Are there any thoughts on using Kerosene heat? My
concern would be the oil film given off by this type of heat. I am in
the boat stage and was wondering about the exposed wood being
subjected to the fumes or film?
