It my also worth considering that the car was approaching from the blind side of the pilot seat. Most of us do not do clearing turns on final. The fact that the road is a private road renders control sinage such as a stop sign unenforcable but would factor into the civil suit that is bound to follow this insident. The regretable action is waiting for this to happen before looking for a "safer" way for the road to pass. Thank goodness no one suffered serious injury.
