I've mentioned this before and I've never tried this myself but a friend of 
mine Jim Clements who has built 10 or 11 Wittman Tailwinds says if you paint 
Anti Seize lubricant on your exhaust pipes, it penetrates the metal tubes when 
they get hot and protects them from rusting and leaves them looking as though 
they were ceramic coated. If you have no ceramic coating and aren't going to 
get them ceramic coated you may want to try this.
