My question is about extending the pre-made fiber glass turtle
deck for the KR2S. We received a gel coated turtle deck with our KR project
and it has the canopy, canopy frame, forward deck and cowlings that are the
newer style.
What I would like to know is your thoughts about cutting it in the middle
and stretching it, or just extending it at the forward end?

Are you looking to fit a standard KR turtledeck to a 2s? I'm
curious, if you have a 2s turtledeck, why the need to extend it?
If it is good front and rear and you cut it in the middle, you will
have to elevate the forward section some amount to get a straight
continuos line between the two. Not all that difficult but will take
some planning.
I used a standard KR2 turtledeck on my stretched KR. (see
photo http://myplace.frontier.com/~flesner/3.jpg ) I split it down
the back, spread and reshaped, then extended it to the turtledeck bow
in the seat back area. I'm sure that was easier than starting from
scratch but was still a fair amount of work. It did turn out o.k. for me.
