Rob;
I changed the subject line to more directly address your comments about controlling the airspeed, especially during descent. As you will read over and over again on this list, how each KR performs in each flight regime will vary from airplane to airplane, unlike certified aircraft where every example of the same unmodified year, make, and model performs much like the others. From what I have read here, there are a couple of very experienced KR builders and pilots who have delved deeply into improving and enhancing performance. Jeff Scott, Mark Langford, and others have gained extensive knowledge and experience in airspeed control of their particular KRs, but that experience can be generalized to some extent as well. Mark has practiced numerous "impossible 180" reversals to simulate engine-out on takeoff and the management of power-off glides to return to the departure runway. This is as you say, controlled operation to measure altitude loss, time, and distance traveled. For exa mple, you can go to www.n56ml.com<http://www.n56ml.com> and just enter "glide" in the search box right above the side view of his airplane, then peruse the items that the search turns up. Lots of interesting information there. Oscar Zuniga Medford, OR _______________________________________________ Search the KRnet Archives at https://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/.
