Thank you Mark and Daniel for your articles on aileron building/balancing...
this gives me and hopefully others that are building, good insight on what to
go back to and ensure that these lessons learned are applied. My ailerons are
already built but I am taking the extra step to go back and check my work and
replace aluminum with steel in these critical areas. In reviewing my estimated
flight profile I did not anticipate the 200 MPH threshold but it appears that
this aircraft is capable of reaching it under certain flight conditions and
that is when these fixes become critical and now is the time for at least in
the case of my airplane to check and ensure that these changes are made.
best regards

Certainly this may not add much to the conversation and Mark's comments. But
in the interest of sharing, this is how I built mine. I probably hit 180 MPH a
few times in a dive, but my usual flying speed was around 155MPH. The aileron
balance stuff is about 3/4 down the thumbnail list.
Sorry, I never did add "the rest of the story", however the weight was bolted
on with AN-3 bolts counter sunk into the lead.

For those of us that are still building, would some of you share you ideas
regarding methods of balancing and installation of weights?
