One more thing....once engines have a significant number of hours on them, normal combustion products "plate out" on the cylinder walls, offering some protection against rust. Brand new bare cylinders can't stand a month in Alabama humidity, but I'm pretty sure if I go look at the other three "good" cylinders from my Beanfield engine that have been in a box in my hangar for three years now, they would be completely rust free still. While I'm at the airport I'll look at some of my other used cylinders for signs of rust and report back, but my guess is I won't find any rust.

Bottom line is I don't worry about engines sitting for a few years. A few decades is cause for concern though....
