I just noticed Inogen is out with an even smaller concentrator. Less
than three pounds and puts out max 4 LPM. I don't know what the amp draw
is but it can't be much since the pumps in these things are tiny. The
new one is called a G4. Their G3, also small, is rated up to 15K and
their G2 - too large for KR purposes - is good up to 18K. With their
built-in regulators they are an all-in-one solution for putting O2 in the
cockpit.

I've had my eye on concentrators for quite a while but I've found my "E"
tank will take me across the country and back with one fill (with a
pulse-dose regulator) so I'll never probably get one, but thought I'd
mention this newest model since it's so small and practical for a KR. It
runs on 12V or battery. Having O2 on long trips is a lifesaver and these
little things are just too clever. Never need another refill with one of
these.

Although designed for medical use, one innovative fellow is re-badging
them with the name "Aviator" and sells them at his website.

Since the G4 is so new I imagine it'll be a while before it shows up on
eBay or Craiglist, but the earlier models can be had for peanuts if you
keep an eye out. The older G3 isn't much bigger than this new one.
Medicare/Insurance pays for these things for people with emphysema and
when they die, survivors flog them for a fraction of their initial cost.
