My preference would be anyplace reasonably wide with a clear approach,
clear departure, and somewhere to go in emergency for the first mile. I
have a red Mark on my altimeter at 500 feet and always note it in climb
out. You CAN'T go back till then. I also fly all my approaches without any
power. Just once, that will be the way I will have to do it.
    Another warning, one that I've long known...when jacking , put the jack
under the spar. But, that is behind the CG, so as the airplane comes up it
will tip on its nose. Put a soft twenty pound weight on the elevator before
jacking. I also always keep my prop horizontal for this and other reasons.
