Larry I know of a flying (but stored) KR1 with a Subaru engine at Hicks (T67)
airport in Northwest Dallas. The airplane is flyable and was for sale about the
time that I bought mine about three years ago. I will have to go back and do
some research to get the name but the airplane was still there as far as I know.

I have a question for someone in the Dallas area, maybe Randy Smith.
Les Palmer had a friend that had a finished KR with, I think, a Subaru
engine that had not yet flown.  I think that would have been in the mid
80's or so.  I don't recall his name but I saw the airplane when on a
training trip to Dallas.  It looked to be a nice build.  Any idea who it
was and what happened to the airplane?
