If I remember correctly, 2-strokes use oil in the gasoline to lubricate the moving parts and the mixture is compressed in the crankcase on the piston downstroke, so introducing fogger through the intake works fine for those engines and besides the cylinder walls, it will get to the underside of the piston, the crank, and bearings. In 4-strokes, nothing that comes into the intake ever sees anything below the piston rings (or shouldn't, anyway), so putting fogger into the intake won't do anything to coat the lower end.
