Samuel said, I hope none of this comes off as insulting anyone's intelligence...... If all of the things that I've done wrong in the cockpit were to come to light, you would definitely be wondering about my intelligence... I have a radio story that happened on my first night cross country that still embarrasses me to this day. We were flying to Huntsville, Al. which is a towered airport and the instructor wasn't much on small details, he often forgot that I was a student pilot. Approaching Huntsville I made contact with the controller and all was well until he said, (Say Altitude). As I sat there thinking why did he say, Say altitude instead of state altitude of even better he could have said, How high are ya ? About that time the instructor screamed SAY ALTITUDE ( well it seemed like he was screaming.) Needless to say, I pushed the button and said, Altitude. Talk about embarrassed. That's one of those mistakes that you'll never make twice. Mike Sylvester kr2s builder Birmingham,AL.
