My name is Anthony Steinke, I live in Grand Forks, North Dakota where the wind chill is currently a balmy 50 degrees below zero. I am a student at the University of North Dakota studying unmanned aircraft systems. I have been interested in flying most of my 32 years and have dreamed of owning my own airplane. I discovered a partially built KR-2 airplane by chance one day while browsing around on barnstormers and it piqued my curiosity about this small airplane. I've spent the last 2 days reading though the KR Gospel, FAQ, and searching the archives for more information.
Before stumbling across the KR, I had been looking at the Vans and Sonex aircraft as my first plane but the cost to just start building is way more than I could afford. The thing I'm attracted to the most about this plane is the ease with which wood can be worked with and customized and the relatively low cost to start building. I look forward to learning more from this group and one day flying a KR of my own.
