If you want your head to explode just google "how to determine vx and vy".

This one is more real world testing.  Other are more involved.

I think we have less to demonstrate here in the USA.  Personally I lift off when the KR says it's ready to fly and then generally climb out at 100 to 110 mph.  If there are obstacles I keep pulling back on the stick till I clear them. :-)
