Hi KR members I have used Alaskan yellow cedar for sailboat mast 40' mast about 5" dia at foot.It was much more flexible than spruce even though modulus of elasticity looked comparable.I glued it with west marine epoxy.Yellow cedar dust is toxic to breath also.thank you John working on a KR2
