Larry, I haven't been following this discussion with any particular interest but it might be helpful to note that whatever Ryan is doing, he's doing it for fun . . . not because he's trying to improve anything. Ryan has owned two KR-1's (one of them which Marc Baca bought), and two KR-2's, and those are just the ones I know about. He possibly owns or has owned more that even that since I don't keep close track but do know that every time I see him he's got a new plane (of all different types) and sold his previous one. His interest in aircraft seems inexhaustible and the huge variety of experimentals he's owned and flown is simply awesome. My point in mentioning this is there's no point in trying to convince Ryan that there's no advantage in converting a fixed gear to a retractable gear KR - he already knows what's what. He's just experimenting . . . in the true spirit of our Experimental category of aircraft. Apologies to Ryan for butting in on this. Carry on everyone.
