I'll confess that I don't know anything about HAPI engines other than they had a spotty reputation, but aren't you really trying to get the HUB off the engine, and then slide the bearing off and replace it? If it's anything like a Force One hub, the hub is a taper fit on the tapered nose of the crank. You have to mount it in a press (remove the bolt that should be holding it on first) and press the crank out of the hub. It's definitely difficult to do any other way. Pardon me if this is obvious, and I'm not giving you enough credit....
