Hey all,

I'm new to the list, so I hope this request isn't completely out of line.
Back in the '80s, my grandfather completed his build of a KR2. I have at
least one memory from the '80s as a young boy of visiting him in the hangar
at the Corona Municipal Airport in Southern California while it was still
being assembled.

Now in my 40's, working in aerospace, and with a teen daughter who is very
interested in aeronautics, grandpa's old plane has become a point of
interest. With the help of my mother, who found an old photo album that had
some pictures of the completed plane, we've been able to identify the tail
number as N39245. We know he sold the plane sometime in the '80s or '90s,
but we don't know who the buyer was or how many times it changed hands.

Online searching has revealed that the N39245 now resides in an air museum
in Poland and was part of a 2022 exhibit celebrating amateur-built
aircraft. I've reached out to the museum, but no direct response has been
received yet. There are a few names I've found online associated with the
tail number, but I haven't been able to make any progress searching out
those folks.

My ask to this group is whether anyone has any recollection of my
grandfather (Manuel "Manny" Medeiros), that plane, or anyone else who might
have seen or flown it. All I know is that he felt like the plane was too
touchy for his skill as a pilot, so he decided to part ways. The original
buyer had considered racing the plane, but that's all we really know.

Feel free to respond to me directly if a response to the larger audience is
unwanted.

Regards,
Greg Holmes
