Sorry.....I started using "EGTs" in that last post, but given that I was 
making CHT probes (for this explanation), I should have mentioned that 
the rest of the message was regarding CHT probes, since that's the 
question that was asked, and hence the "Type K" thermocouple wire, and 
the ring terminals.......
