Attached (as "sun_printf20080923_001.sh") is the first try for a /usr/bin/printf replacement which counts in columns instead of bytes... could anyone give it a try (note it needs the ksh93 version in the prototype012 tree (e.g. ast-ksh.2008-11-04 or higher)), please ?
