Unfortunately this does not help if you use any dtksh extensions like
GUI support... that Solaris dtksh is half-broken is no news - it is
based on a pre-alpha version of a very old version of ksh93 (predating
ksh93d ("ksh93", version "d"), the current version is ksh93r ("ksh93",
version "r")) which should have NEVER been used for production usage.
Somehow either Sun or OpenGroup missed that detail and shipped dtksh
with a broken version of ksh93 as basis.
Getting dtksh fixed is very easy, you only have to replace the ksh93
version in the CDE tree with a current version (and adjust for the minor
differences (which is trivial since AFAIK other OSes such as AIX did
that for their CDE versions, too)) - the question is more whether we can
get someone at Sun do to it or give the Solaris CDE sources away (under
NDA or whatever is needed) to let someone else fix it. This would also
cure MANY issues piled up in Sun's bug DB - the vast majority of these
problems is the direct result of the ancient pre-alpha version of ksh93
used by dtksh.

Bye,
Roland
P.S.: And yes, I am very unhappy about that Sun lets this issue rotting
even when the fix is almost a plug&play solution... ;-(
