(I presume libsum is also not part of your putback.)
No, not for this round as I am trying to avoid "yet another ARC case". PSARC 2006/550 was for ksh93r+ but in the meantime ksh93 development didn't stop and it evolved a lot in the meantime (most changes were internal nature (e.g. fixing multibyte bugs etc.)) but for this putback we cut-down it a bit to make it "look like" ksh93r+ (and run another ksh93 ARC case _after_ the putback to do the "cleanup", enable more builtins for /usr/bin/ utilities and maybe some for /usr/xpg4/bin/|/usr/xpg6/bin/, document the open/poll/tmpfile/etc. builtins, add libsum (which will be much "fun" since some of the functionality overlaps with /usr/gnu/ and openssl stuff) etc.). > > 2. usr/src/lib/libshell/misc/filelist.txt tracks the files which are > > going to be deleted, either before the putback or (maybe better) do the > > putback in one piece and make a 2nd commit to remove the files listed in > > usr/src/lib/libshell/misc/filelist.txt to make sure they show up in > > deleted_files/ ... that would have the advantage that people who are > > looking for those files can find them in the trashcan... > > ... would that be usefull ? > > There's no precedent for doing that, nor do I think it's all that useful > given that deleted_files gets purged at the end of each release train. Do you mean that the files will not longer accessible even within Sun ? The whole idea is an attempt to prevent "yet another story of lost files which noone at Sun can find anymore". If the work is "useless" then it may be better to dump them before the putback to lower April's pain... ---- Bye, Roland -- __ . . __ (o.\ \/ /.o) roland.mainz at nrubsig.org \__\/\/__/ MPEG specialist, C&&JAVA&&Sun&&Unix programmer /O /==\ O\ TEL +49 641 7950090 (;O/ \/ \O;)
