As the first major piece of software to be integrated into ON from an external developer, it is *hugely* important for the success of OpenSolaris (the project) that Roland and ksh93 be successful. Otherwise - what message are we sending to every other potential OpenSolaris contributor? Or more importantly - what message with every other potential contributor *perceive*. Remember - perception is in the eye of the beholder and may be completely disconnected from reality. I'm not asking for standards to be compromised or for special treatment - I'm asking for every ON SME (Subject Matter Expert) to ease the learning curve and pain and lower the barriers that any external contributor will be faced with while trying to integrate, successfully, into ON.
