RFE: Update poll(1) prototype code per user feedback. Changes include:
- Fix for random crashes
- "-t" option should use the same scale (seconds) like "read" to avod confusion
(we add "-T" to specify the timeout in milliseconds like poll(2))
- Add an option to specify a variable which contains the number of fds which
received events (e.g. the return value of poll(2)).
