Although the discussion has seemed a bit drawn out at times (people need time to get up-to-speed on the details), note that probably the best decisions were made with the following issues: + libcmd.so retained its name to be compatible with upstream + the existing Solaris libcmd.so was killed ("must die") + libcmd.so was put into /usr/lib rather than /lib + filters were added to libcmd.so for compatibility safety I think that the ARC review enhanced the quality of the integration in at least these issues and maybe some other issues as well. These decisions were best for both KSH and existing Solaris sensibilities. When one has waited more than a decade to get KSH-93 integrated into Solaris (as shipped, rather than added in by the administrator), these discussions actually start to appear to be great progress!! :-) Dave Morano morano at computer.org
