I think I was wrong earlier about DipComponent. The code there appears
to be doing the same damn things as the other components are doing, yet
crashing.

I think there might be a race condition where it's trying to update the
UI before it's ready... I really can't tell. =(

The equivalent of initDIP in SimpleComponent is
SimpleComponent::init1PinLeft(int h1) .

found a bunch of redundant calls to "updateAttachedPositioning()

but damn, this is a tenacious bug. =(

Looks like it's related to the heavily labeled problems in
itemDocumentData... =\

I give up. =(
