I just realized that I had been ignoring a rather large area of functionality.
A few years ago, the build system was even more broken than it is now. I couldn't get component model library to link with it's UI (do a grep), and commented out those lines of code. =| It's not really much of a model library, it's more properly called "Transistor Paramater Table". The database is in the directory "models". I would vote to temporarily remove this package from the tree (finding all it's dispersed components in the GUI, electronics and models directories). and maintain it separately for the time being and then figure out how to finish it, make it work better, and then re-introduce it to the tree after the KDE4 port. -- DO NOT USE OBAMACARE.
