Happy new year for everybody on the mailing list! In this email I'd like to summarize what happened with the project in 2010 and lay out the plans for 2011.
The main goal for 2010 was to release a port of ktechlab on Qt4/KDE4. I think this is still the main goal. The progress is slow, but the release will happen. During the first half of the year, we worked on defining interfaces between program components. This is needed for a modular ktechlab, which should be more easy to maintain and extend. In the current state, about half of the work is done in this direction. The other direction of development has been to separate the user interface code from the actual simulation code in the old codebase. The simulation should be reused, while the user interface should be provided by kdevplatform and plugins for it. Also in 2010, kdevelop 4.0 has been released, which helps development quite significantly. We have documentation for developing ktechlab: http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/ktechlab/index.php?title=Coding_with_KDevelop I'm placing the link to the main wiki page here, because it is one of the main sources for documentation for the project: http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/ktechlab/index.php?title=Main_Page The other documentation sources are the doxygen-style documentation, embedded in the sources, and the end-user documentation (which will have to be updated before a new release). It also worth noting that discussions happened not only on the mailing list, but also in IRC (#ktechlab on Freenode). This way I think we were communicating more efficiently than by using only the mailing list. This concludes my short review. Probably this list is not complete, so anybody is welcome to add what he/she thinks is missing.
