Hello,

I know I have seen some discussion on this topic both in this group and on the
Kubernetes github issues, but I haven't found a good solution, so I thought I
would add my experience to the mix.

Earlier this week, Oraclelinux added Kubernetes support through its yum
repositories. In an effort to try the new goodies, I installed the latest
public repositories and proceeded to follow the installation guide at:

https://docs.oracle.com/cd/E52668_01/E88884/html/index.html

After installing all the prerequisites, on a fresh installation of oraclelinux
7.3, as root I ran:

# kubeadm init

All goes well until:

[apiclient] Created API client, waiting for the control plane to become ready

At this point the initialization hangs and never completes. I waited over an
hour to see if it would finish but no luck.

The complete log of my kubeadm init follows:

---- log ----

[init] Using Kubernetes version: v1.7.6

[init] Using Authorization modes: [Node RBAC]

---- end log ---

As you can see I am using Kubernetes 1.7.6 and I am using

$ docker version

Client:

Version: 17.03.1-ce

API version: 1.27

Go version: go1.7.5

Git commit: 5cda16c

Built: Wed Mar 29 03:33:13 2017

I have tried this on a couple of different systems with the same results.

Any suggestions would be welcome.

TIA,

Don
