Hello all,
As you may notice, the rktnetes deveployment is halted in recent kubernetes releases, and people are migrating off rktnetes to the rktlet project [1] which integrates with kubernetes using the CRI (container runtime interface). Thanks to folks who are actively working on rktlet [2], rktlet now provides a better integration and ux than the original rktnetes implementation, and is more ready to be used in production than rktnetes. To make the kubelet code base cleaner and easier to maintain, we are proposing to deprecate the rktnetes in the kubernetes 1.10 release, if you are running your workload using rktnetes, please upgrade your kubernetes cluster and switch to rktlet. If you have any questions on how to migrate, feel free to post here. We can be also reached in the #sig-node channel in the kubernetes slack (https://kubernetes.slack.com) Thank you!
