I'm not sure what package is used for the Kubuntu system startup. But
regardless,
here's the issue:
Network interfaces are detected and configured before the pcmcia services
start,
which means that pcmcia cards are not set up automatically, and are a real pain
for
Linux newbies, like myself, to figure out.
