------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2005-10-18 10:00 UTC ------- On further investigation the behaviour seems to be related to the groups allocated to my user account (jfd1) by nis If the +::: at the end of /etc/group is removed the problem goes away.
