I don't think this is a bug. The kubuntu-desktop package itself does not
contain any functionality. This package depends on the whole set of
applications chosen for kubuntu-desktop but removing it won't remove
kubuntu-desktop. In that case, kubuntu-desktop is removed because of the
upgrade from akode to libakode2, which conflicts with akode and thus force
deinstallation.
No functionality is loss, so I think I can close this. If the poster or
whoever disagree coming across this disagree with me please, reopen with an
explanation.
