I have tested deeply, and there is no easy way to switch between those two
possibilities except with patching x-{zip|tar}.desktop files...
So we have to make a choice, and as I explained the actual kubuntu aim of a
coherent and logic desktop is the priority.
There will certainly be a solution with kde 4, but this bug is not currently
resolvable...
