unable to get printerdrivers installed for HP 635 Officejet using the
System Settings -->Printers in Kubuntu (dapper 6.06 beta)
i was able to see the screen containing the drivers for my printer, but
after choosing the recommended one i got the following message (in
dutch). Translating in my best english i'll give after the dutch message
Het gevraagde stuurprogramma kon niet worden geladen:
[20:00] <menno_> Het Foomatic-stuurprogramma [HP-OfficeJet_635,hpijs] kon niet
worden aangemaakt. Dit stuurprogramma bestaat mogelijk niet, of u hebt niet de
nodige toegangsrechten om die handeling uit te voeren.
Translation in English---
demanded driver could not be loaded:[20:00]<menno>the Foomatic-driver
[HP-OfficeJet_635,hpijs] could not be made. Possibly because it doesn't
exist, or you do not have the permissions.
End of Translation----
However i was able to install the driver manually. The printer works
perfectly now.
