Thanks this fixed me too. Also in Australia. I noticed that I had to log off and on again for the change to take effect though. I also noticed this setting in ~/.kde/share/config/amarokrc and wondered if it would help?? I changed mine from 0 to 1. See if anyone else finds this works too...
