The Kubuntu install does not correctly install the mime type
dependencies required by Gnome based programs like Evolution.
To make Evolution behave as expected when you right click on an
attachment, the /etc/gnome/defaults.list file is needed, and must be
symlinked to $HOME/.local/share/applications/defaults.list.
It is also necessary to ensure that the .desktop files referred to by
the defaults.list file must be in /usr/share/applications. KDE apps are
typically in /usr/share/applications/kde. These must be symlinked to
/usr/share/applications.
