I can reproduce this bug. I run Amarok v 2.2.0 with Kubuntu 9.10 RC. Browsing samba shares from the files menu works, but adding doesn't do anything. For me an very annoying bug since I live on a university with a large 3000+ samba shares and I don't want to mount them all.
