For me it worked after removing the archive files in in directory "~/.kde/share/apps/akregator/Archive/" directory. I had to remove just the .mk4 files. Off course I lost all my archived feeds, but at least I am able to open akregator now. It seems that akregator is not able to handle large number of feeds.
