I'm running Kubuntu 11.04 on i686 architecture (32bit).
The system currently doesn't react to CD-RWs, it doesn't matter whether it's
empty or not.
Not even K3b can be used to detect the medium or to format it.
Using empty CDs or DVDs just works: the system recognizes them and reacts to
their insertion.
